Research focus:

  • Analyse the genetic polymorphisms linked with hypertension or susceptibility to damage in target organs in risk patients with hypertension.
  • Study the different molecules involved in the origin and development of the endothelial dysfunction and damage to target organs in patients with hypertension and diabetes.
  • Study the molecules and intracellular signalling involved in the origin and development of kidney fibrosis in chronic kidney disease.
  • Identify urinary biomarkers with an early diagnostic value to detect hypertension, diabetes and other related disorders such as chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular damage.
