The University Hospital of Salamanca has received in a single afternoon three awards that recognize the excellence of the Salamanca complex in very different areas of action.

The Best in Class awards -one of the most important in Spain- have crowned Salamanca as the ‘Best Reference Unit in CAR-T Cellular Therapies‘. This award serves to revalidate the distinction already obtained in the year 2023 and this has a special value. Just as in other awards the first classified usually ‘rotate’ so that the same person does not always win, in this case it is really about rewarding the best and the specialists who are in charge of voting maintain that Hematology in Salamanca continues to be the national leader over ‘giants’ such as the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, Hospital de Valencia, Virgen del Rocío and Gregorio Marañón.

The head of Hematology, Fermín Sánchez-Guijo, was accompanied by the manager of the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca, Carmen Rodríguez Pajares, at the reception of this award.

At the same gala, the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca was also a finalist in the category of ‘Best High Complexity Hospital’.

On the other hand, the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca also attended the Ennova Health Awards, where it won two other first places in the category ‘Telehealth and E-Learning: patient safety communication project’ – Rubén Cañizares received the award – and in the category ‘Big data and Artificial Intelligence: expert system for lipid control’, thanks to a project carried out by the Cardiology service through the IBSAL. Those in charge of receiving the award were cardiologists Pedro Luis Sánchez -head of service- and Dr. Armando Oterino.

These three awards put the finishing touch to a month in which the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca has received multiple national awards.
