Technical Management Unit

The Technical Management Unit is responsible for the economic, administrative and human resources management of the IBSAL.

The Technical Management Unit of the IBSAL is located on the tenth floor of the Hospital Virgen de la Vega building , at Paseo de San Vicente, 58-182.

It is divided into the following work areas:

• Coordination and supervision of the various departments that make up the IBSAL Technical Management Unit

• Administrative management of institutional platforms and issuance of certificates.

• Preparation of minutes, document management, and recording of IBSAL’s official resolutions.

Project Management Area

Office of International Projects (OPI)

• Promotes the institute’s participation in international competitive funding programs .

• Provides comprehensive support to researchers throughout the project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to justifying approved actions.

National Projects

• Promotes the institute’s participation in national, regional, and local competitive funding programs

• Provides comprehensive support to researchers throughout the project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to justifying the grants awarded.

Support for the UMBRELLA-SUMMA LEGACY Project

• Coordination of the management of project PMP24/00025, funded by the Carlos III Health Institute and the European Union—NextGeneration EU, Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

• Coordinating the strategy and monitoring the institutional quality indicators for IBSAL.

• Promoting initiatives in the areas of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), citizen participation, and open science

• Overseeing the onboarding of new research staff and research groups, and coordinating the annual scientific report.

• Monitoring, evaluating, and revitalizing research areas and groups.

Communication

• Management of internal, external, and institutional communications, as well as IBSAL's corporate image.

• Coordinating science outreach activities and organizing institutional events.

• Recording and monitoring income and expenses, managing funds and grants, and preparing financial reports.

• Budget planning: Design, monitoring, and implementation of the annual budget.

Clinical Trials Area

Initiation and Administrative Management of Clinical Trials

• Information and guidance for sponsors, researchers, and CROs on the administrative requirements for conducting clinical trials, observational studies, and clinical research involving medical devices.

• Processing of facility compliance reviews and support with the procedures required by current regulations and applicable regulatory platforms.

Contract and Financial Management of Clinical Trials

• Management and negotiation of contracts, addenda, and financial reports for clinical trials, observational studies, clinical research involving medical devices, and other clinical studies.

• Comprehensive financial management and billing for clinical trials, including payment tracking, incident resolution, and final financial reconciliation
