Scientific support unit
The Scientific Research Support Unit serves as an advisory and support service for the institute’s researchers and is organized into three areas, each of which oversees various platforms.
Methodology and scientific dissemination area
It provides support in all the data management phases of a research project. Specifically, the following services are offered:
- Methodological Advice
- Design of Protocols for competitive Research Projects
- Verification and Regulatory Advisory
- Scientific Communication
- Grammar and Style Correction Service (outsourced)
- Mentoring Program
- Clinical Epidemiology and Methodology Platform
Data management area
It provides support in all the data management phases of a research project. Specifically, the following services are offered:
- Data management plan: advice on the development of the data management plan and the availability of data in standardized and recognized open repositories following the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles.
- REDCap Platform: Online Data Collection and Management Workbooks
- Biostatistics Platform
- Bioinformatics Platform
Clinical trial support area
It will support clinical trials and observational studies, both within the SCReN platform and in independent clinical research.
Specifically, the following services are offered:
- Design and Support for Independent Clinical Research Projects
- Design and support of commercial studies as a CRO.
- Internal and external monitoring services for IBSAL.
- Services Provided Through the SCReN Platform
- Clinical Trials Platform
