Summary
The Unoentrecienmil Foundation is issuing a public call for proposals to fund research on childhood leukemia.
A grant of €100,000 will be awarded to a research project on childhood leukemia, to be conducted under the supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI) at a Spanish institution.
The research project must address a topic of the applicant’s choice related to childhood leukemia; particular emphasis will be placed on translational projects with clear applications for children suffering from this disease.
It is an essential requirement that the projects submitted be original, unpublished, and not previously funded by other public or private entities, nor have they received any prior awards. The IP will provide a list of all active, funded projects it is currently developing.
Requirements
Requirements for applicants to the project:
– Be a Spanish citizen or, failing that, have been conducting research in Spain for at least five years.
– Be a physician specializing in pediatrics and a full member of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, or
– Be a physician specializing in hematology and have completed at least four years of specific postgraduate training in pediatric hematology, or
– Hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline related to pediatric leukemia in its various aspects (Biology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, among others) and demonstrate at least six years of postgraduate training or affiliation with a hospital, biomedical research institute, or research group with a proven track record in childhood leukemia.
Requirements regarding the project’s reception center:
– Be a Spanish institution and be accredited for teaching and research in accordance with the regulations of the National Commission for the specialty of Pediatrics.
– Demonstrate sufficient experience in the field chosen for the project.
– Acceptance of the research study by that institution. The necessary documentation must be submitted to demonstrate the required financial standing.

The deadline for submitting projects is May 5, 2026. Projects and all other required documentation must be submitted via email to the Foundation at investigacion@unoentrecienmil.org with the subject line “XIII Beca Unoentrecienmil.”

Terms and Conditions
The project will last for 2 years, beginning in October 2026 and ending in October 2028. The initial financial contribution will be made upon award of the grant and will correspond to the first annual installment, in accordance with the approved budget.
The payment for the second annual installment will be made following the evaluation of the detailed annual report submitted to the Committee of Experts, which will decide whether to continue or terminate the grant, depending on the scientific achievements made (clinical recruitment, conference presentations, publications, etc.).
