The first joint transnational call for proposals from the EUP OHAMR Partnership on Antimicrobial Resistance, titled “Treatments and Adherence to Treatment Protocols”
The goal of this call for proposals is to improve treatment success rates in patients, animals, and plants affected by bacterial or fungal infections by offering new treatment options while reducing the risk of resistance development across the various settings of the “One Health” approach .
The call for proposals is co-financed by the European Union and involves 37 funding organizations from 28 countries, with a total estimated budget of more than 31 million euros.
In addition, the following national and regional funding agencies are participating in this call for proposals: the Aragon Institute of Health Sciences (IACS), the State Research Agency (AEI), and the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).
Requirements
Proposals must address one of the following topics:
Topic 1: Identify and develop new combination therapies using existing or innovative antimicrobials, or antimicrobials in combination with adjunctive therapies, to extend drug efficacy and combat resistance.
Topic 2: Develop tools and methods to improve adherence to treatment protocols.
Topic 3: Assess the impact of antimicrobials used in veterinary and agricultural settings on the risk of AMR transmission to humans and the environment, to inform policies on restricting certain antimicrobials for human use.
