Molecular Genetics Techniques for Laboratory Technicians (2025)

Objective:

Gain an overview of the various techniques routinely used in a molecular genetics laboratory.

 

Specific objectives:

Understand what a mutation is and how to name it correctly.

Describe the different methods for isolating genetic material from various biological samples.

Understand the basics of PCR, its uses, and the different types that exist.

Describe the different techniques for detecting mutations and the application of each one.

Review the different sequencing methods.

Understand how cell cultures are conducted and how to isolate and analyze the proteins present in cells.

In order to successfully complete the course and receive the relevant certificate, it is necessary to complete 80% of the total program.

Please note that you will only be considered enrolled in the course once you receive the confirmation email, as there is a limit of 22 spots.

 

Method of selection:

Enrollment in the course will be carried out in strict order of enrollment (in courses with high demand, preference will be given to IBSAL personnel), according to the agreement of the IBSAL Training Commission.
