The work program for the Cancer Missions under Horizon Europe for 2026 and 2027.

These are single-phase calls for proposals, aimed at international multidisciplinary consortia, which must submit a proposal in accordance with the specifications for each topic.

Admission requirements, eligibility criteria, and the necessary documents are described in the General Annexes.

HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-02: Microbiome for Early Cancer Prediction Before the Onset of Disease

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-01: Leveraging functional genomics to identify novel targets for cancer treatment

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-02: Clinical research conducted by Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the benefit of patients with common cancers

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-03: Phase 1, including first-in-human clinical trials to test biomarker-guided medicines or multimodal treatment interventions for patients with rare or very rare cancers or cancer subtypes

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-04: Improving equitable health outcomes and added value for and with cancer patients through health economics research, health systems research, and outcomes research

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-05: Pre-commercial procurement of affordable solutions for healthcare systems in the areas of cancer technologies, cancer medical devices, or cancer medicines

HORIZON-MISS-2027-02-CANCER-06: Support for a research program on the quality of life (QoL) of young cancer survivors, led by cancer charities and funding agencies (csa)

Requirements:

These calls for proposals are aimed at multidisciplinary European consortia. Unless otherwise specified in the specific conditions of the call, only legal entities that form a consortium will be eligible to participate in the actions, provided that the consortium includes, as beneficiaries, three legal entities that are independent of one another, each established in a different country, in accordance with the following criteria:

• at least one independent legal entity established in a Member State; and

• at least two other independent legal entities, each established in different Member States or Associated Countries.

Legal entities established in Russia, Belarus, or in territories of Ukraine not controlled by the government are not eligible.

How to apply

Applications consist of two sections:

-Part A (to be completed online) contains administrative information related to the consortium, the budget, and specific details of the call for proposals.

-Part B (a template downloaded from the Commission’s website must be completed) contains the scientific and technical aspects of the project.

 

Submission deadline.

The 2026 application deadlines are September 15, and the process is a single-stage process, With the exception of call HORIZON-MISS-2026-05-SOIL-02, which ends on September 23, 2026.

The application deadlines for 2027 are September 21, 2027, and the application process consists of a single stage.
