The objectives of the grants for the SETH Working Group projects are:

  • Support the conduct of original research through the SETH Working Groups.
  • Collaborate in carrying out the activities specific to the working groups.

The project will have a 1-year development period.

  • The total funding available for SETH Working Groups is €20,000.
  • Two grants are being offered to working groups, with a maximum amount of €10,000 each. These grants also cover indirect costs, with a maximum percentage of 10% of the total expenses incurred.

 

Requirements:

  • Members of SETH/FETH Working Groups that were formally established before June 30 of the year in which the grant application is submitted are eligible to apply for these grants.
  • Only one grant application may be submitted per project and call for proposals.
  • The grant must be used exclusively to cover expenses necessary for the implementation of the project for which the grant is requested (handling/shipping of samples or reagents, consumables, external services, personnel, meetings, publications, or other justified expenses).
  • Projects submitted by applicant Working Groups must not have specific funding allocated for the implementation of the project’s objectives, and in the application report, the Working Group must justify the reasons for requesting the grant, indicating the funding and resources available to the group to carry out the project.
  • Applications must specifically indicate which members of the Working Group are members of SETH and which are not, in accordance with the grant requirements.
  • Applications for grants for Working Group projects that do not meet all the requirements will not be accepted.

To complete the application, please submit the following documentation:

Detailed résumés of the Principal Investigator and the other project members, including information on funding or funding applications for any research projects related to this grant application to the Working Group.

Project Report, which should include the following sections:

  • Title
  • Summary
  • Introduction: Background and Current Status of the Issue
  • Bibliography
  • Hypothesis
  • Objectives
  • Materials and Methods
  • Work plan (for one year only), outlining the most important milestones by quarter
  • Practical Applications of the Results
  • Resources available for carrying out the project
  • Detailed Budget
  • Reason for the Request
  • The project must be no longer than 10 pages (Arial 12, single-spaced)

 

Submission deadline.

  • Applications for the scholarship must be submitted electronically through the Application Form
  • Deadline for receipt of applications: July 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
