Purpose
The Menudos Corazones Foundation and the Spanish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease (SECPCC) announce the opening of the call for applications for the Menudos Corazones Grant, designed to support medical research projects in the field of congenital heart disease. The purpose of the grant is to fund a research project, with a budget of €12,000 and a maximum duration of three years.
Applicant Profile
Applicants must be professionals in pediatric cardiology or specializing in congenital heart disease, cardiac surgery, or nursing who have been members of the SECPCC for at least one year (except in the case of medical residents) and who are current with their membership dues.
Applications
Applications for the scholarship must be submitted through the platform available on the Society’s website.
Applications must be accompanied by the following documentation:
– Photocopy of the Specialist Physician’s Degree or University Diploma.
– Document certifying membership in the SECPCC (request from the Secretariat).
– Proposal for the research project or training stay, as established in Rule 5.
– Certificate from the director of the center selected to carry out the research project, confirming that it meets the necessary conditions for the project.
– Informed consent(s) (including, where applicable, that of the mature minor).
The report will consist of the following sections:
- Curriculum Vitae of the principal investigator and co-investigators or fellowship candidate, using the standard form. (FECYT CVA form)
- TITLE, ABSTRACT in Spanish, CURRENT STATUS OF THE PROBLEM, and BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCES (maximum 3 pages).
- HYPOTHESIS AND OBJECTIVES (maximum 1 page).
- DESIGN (to include the tasks to be performed by each team member) (maximum 2 pages).
- MATERIALS AND METHODS (maximum 2 pages).
- TIMELINE for Achieving Objectives (1 page).
- SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL RELEVANCE of the research or benefits of the training placement.
- Detailed BUDGET of expenses, which may include: Contracting/Subcontracting; Training sessions on clinical/analytical techniques; Consumables; Inventory items; Insurance, if any; Outreach and publication expenses.
- Dissemination plan: presentations at national and international meetings.
- Approval from the Ethics and Research Committee of the institution where the project will be conducted.
- Attachments (maximum 2 pages).
Deadlines
The deadline for the SECPCC Secretariat to receive applications is 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2026. Projects received after this date will be rejected.
