Features and Incompatibilities
- Projects that are considered clinical trials or observational studies will not be eligible for funding.
- The awarding and receipt of this grant do not imply any employment relationship with the TTD, nor do they entail any commitment to subsequently hire the researchers as staff members.
- Projects must comply with current legislation and the relevant bioethical guidelines regarding the participation of human subjects or the use of human-derived material in this type of project. It is the principal investigator’s responsibility to obtain the necessary reports and authorizations.
- The original research project must not have received any prior additional funding.
- In deciding which applicants to award the grant, consideration will be given to whether the institutions are already receiving funding from the TTD for other research projects awarded in previous years and whether the corresponding final reports have been submitted and approved.
- A single institution may not receive funding for more than one project per year.
- During the term of the grant, the principal investigator may undertake other projects or studies, provided that they do not interfere with the fulfillment of the obligations set forth in these guidelines.
- With regard to civil service, statutory, or employment status, the principal investigator must have formalized such a relationship with the institution for at least the entire period between the application submission deadline and the final award decision. If the principal investigator loses this affiliation before the grant decision is issued, they will be removed from the project and cannot be replaced; this will result in the project not being evaluated and the application being rejected.
