Purpose
The purpose of this call for proposals is to promote research that may benefit patients, their families, the scientific community, and society at large.
Based on this premise, special emphasis will be placed on the social impact of eligible projects, through responsible research that addresses the needs and expectations of the various stakeholders in the health care system.
Categories
The Alimerka Foundation’s research grants are intended to fund research projects with a distinctly translational focus that promote the development of personalized precision medicine in any of the following areas of clinical research:
Area 1. ONCOLOGY
Subareas:
- Cancer Genomics
- Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Area 2. NUTRITION
Subareas:
- Nutrition Throughout the Stages of Life

One project will be selected from each area, and each will receive 20,000 euros in funding. If, following the evaluation of applications, one of the two areas is declared void (see point 9 of the Call for Proposals), two projects from the same research area may be funded. Applications that do not fall within the specified research areas, or that are aimed at studying drugs that are already on the market or in development, will be excluded.
Applicant Profile
Grants may be applied for by research teams or groups conducting their activities at research institutes and centers, universities, hospitals, associations, or foundations in the field of health or research—whether public or private—that have their registered office in the autonomous communities of Asturias and Castile and León.
