Purpose
The purpose of this initiative is, on the one hand, to hire researchers with a proven track record in research by providing additional funding for the research activities they carry out and, on the other hand, to provide grants to help these individuals secure permanent positions at these centers once the term of this contract has ended. The purpose of this initiative is to enable them to acquire the skills and competencies necessary to obtain a permanent position in the Spanish National Health System (SNS).
The purpose of these contracts is to:
- Increase the number of full-time researchers in health sciences and technologies at National Health System (SNS) institutions to enhance the potential for transferring knowledge to clinical practice.
- To promote the professional development of researchers in biomedicine and health sciences at National Health System (SNS) centers.
The duration of the aid will be divided into two phases:
- First phase, lasting at least three years, with the goal of consolidating the skills acquired during the postdoctoral training period.
- The second phase will last a maximum of two years. To qualify for this second phase, the researcher may, upon completion of the second year of the first phase, undergo an evaluation of their scientific and technical work, which will be conducted in accordance with the criteria for R3 researchers—established researchers. If the evaluation is positive, in accordance with the aforementioned criteria, the researcher will advance to a phase of the program designed to help them acquire the skills and competencies necessary to secure a permanent position.
