Mental Health in People with Intellectual Disabilities: Assessment and Intervention.
Objective:
Identify and understand intervention methods for behavioral and/or psychiatric disorders in people with intellectual disabilities.
Specific objectives:
- Addressing Mental Health Issues (Primarily Behavioral and Psychiatric Disorders) Among People with Intellectual Disabilities: Current Situation and Needs.
- Identify and understand the main behavioral and psychiatric issues faced by people with intellectual disabilities.
- Learn the assessment and diagnostic methodology for people with intellectual disabilities who have mental health issues.
- To understand intervention methodologies for people with intellectual disabilities who exhibit behavioral and psychiatric disorders
- Review the principles of pharmacological treatment for people with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. And establish the best strategies for pharmacological intervention.
- To learn about and evaluate the different models of care for people with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues, with a particular focus on Castile and León, as well as to learn about the resources available in Castile and León and how to access them.
- To evaluate the best intervention methodology for improving the care and treatment of psychiatric and behavioral problems in people with intellectual disabilities.

The pre-registration period for IBSAL staff runs through Friday, October 1, via our website.
In order to successfully complete the course and receive the relevant certificate, it is necessary to complete 80% of the total program.
