Purpose
The purpose of this call for proposals is to provide financial support, through the signing of a collaboration agreement, for social and health research projects that can be effectively carried out within one year.
The research projects submitted must pertain to the social and health care sector and address topics such as dependency, integrated care, and person-centered care, with priority given to innovative projects that enhance well-being and are easily replicable and transferable.
Types of Projects
To achieve these objectives, the Caser Foundation will use this call for proposals to support research related to the following stakeholder groups:
• People who are dependent on others.
• People receiving palliative care.
• People with disabilities.
• Older adults.
• Informal caregivers for the individuals mentioned above.
Proposals may be submitted in the field of research in any of the following areas: • Integrated care. • Social and health care coordination.
• Promoting personal autonomy.
• Technology applied to social and health care integration.
• Improving quality of life as people age.
• Social inclusion
Projects focused exclusively on the health or social sector will not be accepted; rather, projects that integrate both sectors—within the themes and target groups specified in these guidelines—and that are always aimed at the inclusion and well-being of the intended beneficiaries will be accepted.
Scope of Activities and Applicant Requirements
This call for proposals is open nationwide; that is, researchers must reside in Spain, and the research must also be conducted in Spain.
Participation in this call for proposals is open to any team of individuals working at public or private research centers, including universities, NGOs, foundations, companies, or any other organization specifically dedicated to research. The collaboration agreement will ultimately be signed with the legal entity.
The applicant must commit to a stable involvement in the project for its entire duration, until its successful completion. There are no restrictions on applicants for reasons unrelated to the very nature of this grant.
Characteristics of the Grants
Depending on the characteristics of the projects to be funded, the grants provided by the Foundation will have the following specifications:
1. The activities must be carried out within one year of the signing of the collaboration agreement.
2. Each applying team may participate in only one project.
3. Selected projects may receive funding ranging from a minimum of 5,000 euros to a maximum of 20,000 euros over the course of one year. The funds awarded must be used entirely for the implementation of the project; the project’s objectives, methodology, and anticipated expenses must be clearly specified and, upon request by the Caser Foundation, documented at any time and, in any case, upon completion of the project.
4. Grants awarded under this call for proposals are subject to the tax regulations currently in effect in Spain
Deadline and Submission of Applications
The application period will begin on September 10, 2026, and end on October 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Applications must be submitted using the form provided for this purpose at the following link: https://www.fundacioncaser.org/investigacionsociosanitaria
You must attach the following required documentation to this form:
• Project proposal using the template provided in the form attached as Annex I to this call for proposals, with a maximum length of 4,000 words. The proposal must include the following information: description, objectives and/or hypotheses, methodology, timeline, direct and indirect beneficiaries, expected results, budget, and project team, including a detailed description of each member’s role in the project’s implementation.
• A summary of no more than 300 words, indicating: the purpose, innovative nature, and social and health-related relevance of the project, as well as its alignment with the interests of the foundation and this call for proposals.
• CVs of the applicant researcher, as well as those of the other researchers who plan to be involved in the project. All applications must include a research team that is consistent with the project’s objectives, methodology, tasks, and expected results.
