Summary
Grants intended to fund research staff placements at foreign R&D centers or at Severo Ochoa Centers of Excellence and María de Maeztu Units of Excellence, with the aim of enhancing their training and expertise in research, development, and technological innovation.
Subsidized stays must take place at a single facility, begin in 2027, and may not be split into separate periods.
Requirements
Requirements for applicants:
Individuals who are currently employed under any of the following contracts are eligible to apply:
- Pre-doctoral Health Research Training Contracts (PFIS) for the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 calls for applications.
- i-PFIS Contracts for the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 calls for proposals.
- Sara Borrell’s contracts for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 recruitment cycles.
- Río Hortega Contracts for the 2024 and 2025 calls for proposals.
- Miguel Servet Grants for the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 funding rounds.
- Type II Miguel Servet Grants for the 2023 calls for proposals.
- Juan Rodés Contract for the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 rounds of applications.
Only those who are actively employed under one of the aforementioned contracts for the entire requested period of stay are eligible for these grants.
Individuals who have previously received another M-AES grant under the same contract that made them eligible to apply for the grant may not apply as candidates.
Application
Applications and all other required documentation must be submitted exclusively through the ISCIII’s online portal.
The application forms will require only the signature of the legal representative of the applicant entity, who will collect the signatures of the other interested parties and be responsible for their safekeeping and authenticity.
Applications must be accompanied by the following documentation:
The following are an integral part of the application:
- Abridged Curriculum Vitae (CVA) in Spanish or English, automatically generated by the FECYT curriculum editor or by any institution certified under the FECYT CVN standard that offers the CVA-ISCIII service, for the candidate.
- A report on the proposed activity to be carried out during the stay, written in Spanish or English, using exclusively the standardized form corresponding to AES 2026.
In addition, the applications must be accompanied by (documentation that can be corrected):
- A report from the host institution to which the professional is applying, stating its acceptance. This report must specify the duration of the candidate’s assignment (including, in all cases, the exact start and end dates of the stay at the institution), the nature of the assignment, and whether the candidate will receive financial compensation for it.
- Full text of selected publications, if they are not open access.
