Purpose
The Mutual Médica Foundation, through its Impulsar(me) program, is announcing a new call for applications for the Mutual Médica Research Grant, intended for resident physicians who are in their final year or who have completed their residency within the last three years. The research must have potential applications in clinical practice.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support young researchers, where “support” means helping young professionals bring to fruition research projects with the potential to bring about change, especially at the most challenging time: at the beginning of their medical careers.
Amount
Through this scholarship, the Mutual Médica Foundation supports physicians who are in their final year of the MIR program or who have completed their residency within the last three years. The winning research project will receive a grant of 25,000 €, and two runner-up prizes of 5,000 € each will be awarded.
Requirements
The candidate must be a physician and be a member of one of the Official Medical Associations in Spain.
— At the time of applying for the scholarship, the candidate must be in their final year of residency, or must have completed it this year or in one of the three preceding years, from 2023 to 2025.
— The research proposal must include the title of the project, the name of the fellow, the primary and secondary objectives, the research hypothesis, the materials and methodology to be used, as well as the relevance and potential clinical implications of the research.
— The work must be completed within a maximum of two years from the date the first grant is awarded.
— Members of the Board of Directors of Mutual Médica and the Board of Trustees of the Mutual Médica Foundation, as well as their family members, are not eligible for the scholarship.
Documentation
To be eligible for the grant, the research physician must submit the following documentation:

• Copy of ID card.
• A certificate from the Director of Labor attesting to the candidate’s qualifications, stating the Director’s commitment to monitor the candidate’s progress, and verifying that the work can be completed within a period of 2 years.
• A certificate from the director of the center or institution where the research is to be conducted, confirming acceptance of the proposed work and stating that the technical capabilities necessary for its completion are available.
• A document from the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of the relevant accrediting institution stating its approval, if the study involves the participation of patients.
• Resume.
• Research Project.

• The deadline for submitting documentation is September 30, 2026.
• Copies of the duly signed originals of the Director of Labor’s Certificate, the Center Director’s Certificate, and the Ethics Committee Document must be provided.
