This category recognizes both projects involving direct patient care and initiatives focused on innovation in internal management, modernization, and efficiency that have contributed to strengthening the association and were implemented during the immediately preceding year.

2. Resident healthcare professional

Intended for professionals currently undergoing Specialized Health Training (FSE). Healthcare professionals who are currently pursuing an FSE specialty in any of the categories recognized by the Ministry of Health (MIR, EIR, FIR, PIR, BIR, QIR, and RFIR) are eligible to apply for this category.
Professionals in training who have developed or are currently developing initiatives or projects aimed at addressing any of the interests of the community served by our Federation—with a focus on people with lived experiences of liver disease, their families, and their communities—are eligible to apply.

3. Research group in a field related to the organization’s mission

It recognizes teams that promote scientific knowledge about liver diseases, as well as related issues such as the social, occupational, psychological, or other impacts of these diseases.
Any research group currently conducting a study in the aforementioned fields and affiliated with a research center or public university in Spain may apply for this category.

4. Healthcare professionals in relevant fields

This award recognizes specialists who have distinguished themselves through their work in healthcare and comprehensive, person-centered care. Special emphasis will be placed on these professionals’ ability to integrate the clinical needs with the psychosocial aspects of patients with liver disease and their families.
Active professionals (in medicine, nursing, psychology, health social work, etc.) who work in public or private healthcare facilities throughout Spain are eligible for this award. Consideration will be given to the impact of their work on improving patients’ quality of life, their collaboration with community organizations, and their track record in humanizing patient care.
Applications may be submitted by the candidate themselves or on behalf of a third party. In the latter case, contact information for the third party must be provided.

5. Promotion of Volunteerism

This award recognizes innovative programs or projects aimed at recruiting, training, managing, and retaining volunteers within the nonprofit sector. This category highlights social commitment and solidarity as fundamental pillars for the sustainability of organizations that work with liver patients.

The cash prize will be awarded to the winning organization that develops and leads the volunteer program. The initiatives submitted must demonstrate how volunteer work has added value to patient care or raised public awareness about liver health. A report detailing the volunteer program’s activities must be submitted.
