Summary of the Call for Applications

The General Council of Nursing of Spain, in collaboration with the Spanish Institute for Nursing Research Foundation, is launching these grants to fully or partially fund research projects aimed at achieving benefits and an impact on health outcomes related to nursing practice in any of the following categories:

— Hospital Sector (first prize: €12,000; second prize: €8,000). Studies to be conducted in a hospital setting in any of its functional areas. Studies related to professional practice in clinical research, teaching, management, and/or social engagement are eligible.

— Community and Social Category (first prize: €12,000; second prize: €8,000). Studies to be conducted in the fields of public health, primary care, community health, or social and health care. All studies related to professional practice in clinical research, teaching, community management, and/or social engagement will be considered.

— Promising Young Researchers in Nursing (€10,000). Studies conducted in any field related to professional practice in clinical research, teaching, management, and/or social engagement; the principal investigator must be under 35 years of age as of the date the application is submitted and signed.

Cooperation across different areas of professional development that bridges the gap between research and clinical practice by forming teams with researchers from both academic and clinical backgrounds will be viewed favorably.

 

Requirements

Requirements for applicants:

It is established that either a single researcher (a nurse registered with any of the official nursing associations in Spain) or a research team (whose principal investigator must also be a nurse and the team must consist of at least 50% of the members must be nurses, all of whom must also be registered with any of the official nursing associations in Spain).

In both cases, the application must be submitted by the principal investigator, who will be listed as the candidate.

The principal investigator must be employed by the institution where the study is being conducted and/or have the approval of that institution and the approval of a research committee or ethics committee (or proof that an application has been submitted to the committee).

Winners from the past two years are not eligible to participate in this year’s competition.

 

How to apply

Required documentation:

  • Completed and signed application: project application form.
  • Completed and signed project proposal: project proposal.
  • Principal Investigator’s Resume: Resume Template. The standard format (CVN and/or CVA) from FECYT will also be accepted.
  • A certificate issued by the relevant provincial professional association confirming that the Principal Investigator is a member and is current with membership dues as of the date of application.
