Transgenesis Service
The Transgenesis Service (STG) of the IBSAL/USAL offers to the scientific community the centralized services of:
1.-
Generation of “classical” transgenic mice by naked DNA microinjection. At least 20 offspring are guaranteed for genotypic analysis and/or at least 3 injection sessions. This is the usual methodology for generating classical transgenic mice, where the goal is to insert several copies of a given construct into their genome. Requires a very sophisticated infrastructure (microinjection station) and highly qualified personnel.

2.-
Generation of “site-specific” genetically modified mice by ES cell microinjection techniques in 8-16 cell mouse embryo morulae or by ES cell microinjection technique in mouse blastocysts.
3.-
Generation of genetically modified mice by ES cell aggregation technique in compacted morulae of 2.5-3 days of gestation.
4.-
Generation of genetically modified mice by pronuclear microinjection of genetic material, combined with CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
5.-
Generation of genetically modified mice by in-plate electroporation of genetic material combined with CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
