The scientific support unit for research is constituted as an advisory and support service for the institute’s researchers, structured in three areas
Methodology and scientific dissemination area
It provides support in all the data management phases of a research project. Specifically, the following services are offered:
- Methodological Advice
- Design of Protocols for competitive Research Projects
- Verification and Regulatory Advisory
- Scientific Communication
- Grammar and Style Correction Service (outsourced)
- Mentoring program
Data management area
It provides support in all the data management phases of a research project. Specifically, the following services are offered:
- REDCap: Databases and data collection notebooks
- Data management plan: advice on the development of the data management plan and the availability of data in standardized and recognized open repositories following the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles.
- Statistical analysis, through the Biostatistics platform.
- Bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, through the artificial intelligence platform.
Clinical trial support area
He supports clinical trials and observational studies, both in the context of the SCReN platform and in independent clinical research. In addition, it will be in charge of the design and support of commercial studies as CRO. It will also provide internal and external monitoring services to IBSAL.
