Citizen's Commission
At IBSAL we promote citizen participation through different proposals. One of them is the citizen commission and another is the call for grants for projects to disseminate IBSAL research to society.
Our functions are
The IBSAL Citizens’ Commission is an advisory, participatory and consultative body, designed to incorporate the voice of citizens in the work of the institute and in scientific decision-making. Our main functions are:
- Promote the active participation of key non-scientific stakeholders in the operation of the IBSAL.
- Disseminate to the different associations and groups the agreements, recommendations, lines of collaboration and active projects susceptible to participation that are discussed at the committee meetings.
- Inform the committee about the needs of the different groups and about the existing programs that are being carried out.
- Propose and develop new collaborative activities.
- Establish spaces for participation between researchers and citizens in the development of research activity in all its phases.
- Actively participate in the different commissions of the IBSAL, as well as in the programs, forums and discussion and work groups.
- Encourage the proposal of ideas, requests and joint lines of work among the different entities and associations.

IBSAL research dissemination projects aid plan to society
The aid plan for projects to disseminate IBSAL research to society finances projects organized by citizen associations and foundations, whose objective is the dissemination to society of research carried out within the framework of the IBSAL, through activities aimed at the general public.
Wanted:
- To bring the scientific knowledge generated at the IBSAL closer to society through outreach activities adapted to different audiences.
- Encourage the participation of citizen associations/foundations in the communication and dissemination of scientific research, promoting scientific culture among the population.
- Promote cooperation between researchers and society, favoring the understanding of advances in health and their impact on daily life.
- Encourage the dissemination of research results in innovative and accessible formats for all types of audiences.
