Ram\u00f3n Areces Foundation<\/strong> announces the awarding of grants to fund original research projects lasting three years that advance scientific knowledge and contribute to technological progress and the advancement of our society.<\/p>\n\n
\n
Priority Areas<\/h3>\n
For the purposes of this Call for Proposals, each research team may submit only one proposal, indicating the subject area in which it wishes to compete. The proposal must fall within one of the following priority areas: <\/p>\n
\u2014 Rare Diseases
\n\u2014 Personalized Therapy, Immunotherapy, and Cancer
\n\u2014 Infection: Early Warning, Prevention, and Treatment
\n\u2014 Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases
\n\u2014 Intercellular Communication and the Interactome: Pathological Implications
\n\u2014 Food Biotechnology
\n\u2014 Climate Change and Renewable Energy
\n\u2014 New Materials: Fundamentals and Applications <\/p>\n
In awarding this grant, the Foundation will give preference to applications in which young Spanish researchers\u2014who do not have ample funding resources\u2014serve as principal investigators, provided that the grant can provide a significant boost to the development of their research areas.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Submission Deadline<\/h3>\n
The application period will run from March 16 to April 20, 2026.<\/strong> Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Amount and Duration<\/h3>\n
The maximum amount requested must not exceed \u20ac160,000<\/strong> for all of the three-year project duration<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Requirements and Applications<\/h3>\n
Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\nResearch teams conducting their work in Spain at the same institution, under the direction of a Principal Investigator (PI), may apply for research grants under this call for proposals. However, a researcher from another institution\u2014whether domestic or foreign\u2014may be part of the team if they are responsible for a specific task, provided that such participation is adequately justified in the project proposal. <\/p>\n
In any case, only the Center to which the IP is affiliated will be responsible for administering the funds awarded.<\/p>\n
Researchers who are currently receiving or have received a grant from the Ram\u00f3n Areces Foundation as principal investigator within the last four years are not eligible to apply for this call for proposals.<\/p>\n
Submission of Applications<\/strong><\/p>\nApplications must be submitted using an online form created for this purpose, which will be available on the Ram\u00f3n Areces Foundation\u2019s website once the application period opens. For more detailed information, a help document will be provided with instructions to make it easier for you to complete your application. You can access this online help by clicking on the [?] icon that appears in the \u201cMy Application\u201d window in your private area. <\/p>\n
All documentation must be submitted electronically via the link provided on the Foundation\u2019s website. The link will be available only during the specified application period. <\/p>\n

B. Research Project:<\/p>\n
Project summary including the title, name, and affiliation of the principal investigator (PI), a 250-word summary of the project, as well as the team composition and the signature of each team member: \u201cRES_ (PI\u2019s last name).pdf\u201d.
\nResearch report, written in Spanish or English, named \u201cMEMI_(IP last name).pdf,\u201d and including:
\nProject background and working hypothesis.
\nSpecific objectives, work packages, and methods.
\nA schedule detailing the project tasks.
\nImpact on the priority area on which the project focuses.
\nA detailed budget that must include line items for personnel, inventory items, consumables, technical services, travel, and other expenses (provided they are directly related to the research project).<\/p>\n
C. Research Team:<\/p>\n
