{"id":25335,"date":"2026-06-01T10:56:42","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T08:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibsal.es\/evento\/european-innovation-council-eic-pathfinder-challenges\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T13:24:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T11:24:34","slug":"european-innovation-council-eic-pathfinder-challenges","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/ibsal.es\/en\/evento\/european-innovation-council-eic-pathfinder-challenges\/","title":{"rendered":"European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder Challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c;\">Features<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"411\">The Commission&#8217;s EIC Pathfinder program supports early-stage, disruptive technological innovations with revolutionary potential.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"411\">From the conception of an idea to proof of concept (TRL 1\u20134), the EIC Pathfinder, as part of the EIC\u2019s Horizon Europe work program, funds innovative technologies with a transformative impact. <strong>It offers two funding options: Open and Challenges<\/strong>, the latter of which is aimed at specific objectives defined by the EIC and is currently open for applications.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c;\">Requirements:<\/h3>\n<p>The budget is 96 million euros, and the topics are: specific challenges of EIC Pathfinder.<\/p>\n<p>The following is a list of topics with links:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pathfinder Challenge 1: <em>Advanced Materials for Miniaturized Energy Harvesting Systems:<\/em> to support the next generation of energy-autonomous systems and IoT devices. <a href=\"https:\/\/webgate.ec.europa.eu\/circabc-ewpp\/d\/d\/workspace\/SpacesStore\/aa9e67de-437a-4410-94f4-f4834e223533\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Advanced Materials for Miniaturized Energy Harvesting Systems. <\/a> <\/li>\n<li>Pathfinder Challenge 2: <em>Biotechnology for Healthy Aging:<\/em> Develop biotechnological or pharmaceutical interventions to prevent, delay, or reverse age-related diseases. <a href=\"https:\/\/webgate.ec.europa.eu\/circabc-ewpp\/d\/d\/workspace\/SpacesStore\/80236a75-d4aa-4cbc-afa1-54be34fe8a2f\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biotechnology for Healthy Aging<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Pathfinder Challenge 3: <em>DeepRAP: Deep Reasoning, Abstraction, and Planning for Trustworthy Cognitive AI Systems:<\/em> Promoting trustworthy cognitive AI through deep reasoning, abstraction, and planning. <a href=\"https:\/\/webgate.ec.europa.eu\/circabc-ewpp\/d\/d\/workspace\/SpacesStore\/e2ff75b7-1a7d-489c-a412-3771d82d05bf\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DeepRAP: Deep Reasoning, Abstraction &#038; Planning towards trustworthy Cognitive AI Systems<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They are European consortia consisting of at least two entities from different countries or a single legal entity established in a Member State or an associated country.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible applicants include: research organizations and universities, as well as startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing high-risk, high-impact technologies.<\/p>\n<p><i>Mid- and large-cap companies may not apply as lead applicants.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Proposals are scored (0\u20135) based on three criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellence: ambition, innovation, and a high-risk\/high-return vision.<\/li>\n<li>Impact: potential to lay new foundations for innovative technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation: quality of the consortium and the work plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tie-breaking criteria: higher scores for excellence and impact, gender balance, and participation by SMEs and countries with the highest participation rates.<\/p>\n<p>All essential research-related expenses, including those for personnel, equipment, travel, and subcontracting, are covered under the lump-sum grant.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c;\">Submission Deadline<\/h3>\n<p>The deadline is October 28, 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Features The Commission&#8217;s EIC Pathfinder program supports early-stage, disruptive technological innovations with revolutionary potential.
