Purpose and Objectives of the Call for Proposals<\/h3>\n

The purpose<\/strong> of this call for proposals<\/a> is to improve the humanization of care and the comprehensive approach to cancer patients and their caregivers at all stages of the disease through financial support for university chairs. within the strategic framework of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (hereinafter, the Association). To this end, the call will foster connections between the academic community and healthcare professionals, through the development of training, outreach, and\/or knowledge-generation activities, reinforcing both the humanization of healthcare professionals\u2019 training and care settings, with the ultimate goal of improving care for cancer patients. <\/p>\n

AECC Chairs must be carried out entirely at Spanish universities or at Spanish healthcare institutions affiliated with Spanish universities, whether public or private (hereinafter, \u201cCenter\u201d).<\/p>\n

Only applications whose scope is focused on improving the humanization of cancer prevention, cancer patient care, and patient well-being will be accepted. Applications for basic research that fall under the scope of other grants offered by the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (hereinafter, the Foundation) will not be accepted. We recommend consulting the Foundation\u2019s grant catalog.
\nThis call for proposals involves the AECC Patient Advocacy Program, composed of cancer patients and their caregivers. <\/p>\n

All aspects of the call for proposals will be managed through the Foundation\u2019s grant management platform (Grant Management System, hereinafter the GMS platform), where you can find the relevant documentation.<\/p>\n

Scope<\/h3>\n

Through this call for proposals, the Foundation offers funding to research and\/or teaching staff to carry out the chair\u2019s project through activities that promote the generation and transfer of knowledge, as well as training and\/or outreach activities.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Requirements<\/h3>\n

Applicants for AECC Chairs must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

\u2014 Hold a Ph.D.
\n\u2014 Have a contractual relationship with the University as university staff and\/or faculty for at least the duration of the chair\u2019s project.
\n\u2014 Have proven experience in the field of the proposed chair project.
\n\u2014 Develop the program in collaboration with a provincial office and\/or AECC Corporate Services.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Features of the Proposal<\/h3>\n

The project must have a clear impact<\/strong> on improving disease prevention, well-being, and the humanization of care for cancer patients and their caregivers at all stages of the disease.<\/p>\n

In all cases, a description<\/strong> must be provided of the reasons<\/strong> why this project is of interest and strategic importance to the Association and to cancer patients.<\/p>\n

Features of the Grant<\/h3>\n

Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n

The grant will last for a maximum of 3 years<\/strong> from the start date specified in the agreement.<\/p>\n

This period may be extended for up to one additional year, provided that the annual project monitoring and financial monitoring have been satisfactorily completed, and the impact on improving prevention, well-being, and\/or patient-centered care for cancer patients\u2014as justified in the initial proposal\u2014has been achieved.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Financial Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

This grant provides a maximum total of 50,000 euros (gross) per year<\/strong> to carry out the project.<\/p>\n

The eligible expenses are detailed in the Annex \u201cGuide to Eligibility and Justification of Expenses,\u201d available in the documentation section of the call for proposals.<\/p>\n

Applicants must register on the GMS platform at https:\/\/grants-fundacioncientifica-aecc.smartsimple.ie\/s_Login.jsp<\/a>
\n. Documentation will only be accepted through this channel; documentation submitted through any other channel will not be accepted.<\/p>\n

Deadline for submitting applications<\/h3>\n

The application period begins on November 13, 2025, and ends on January 15, 2026, at 3:00 p<\/strong>. m.<\/strong>(mainland Spain time).
\nThe system will not accept submissions after the application deadline, and only those applications submitted within the application period will be evaluated.<\/p>\n
