Purpose<\/h3>\n

The INVESMIR SEC-CNIC Program aims to<\/strong> supplement the training of medical professionals during their hospital residency by facilitating the development of a research project in the CNIC laboratories under the supervision of a CNIC scientist.<\/p>\n

This program<\/a> also aims to establish the necessary connections and partnerships so that, upon completing their specialization, these professionals can continue to develop their research projects at their respective hospitals, with the support of the SEC and the CNIC.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Terms and Conditions<\/h3>\n

A maximum of 10 spots<\/strong> will be awarded for the INVESMIR SEC-CNIC training program<\/strong> in the 2026 call for<\/strong> applications.<\/p>\n

The potential recipient groups for the CNIC under this program and information regarding their research areas are available at the following link:

Interested individuals must contact the research groups and be accepted into one of them in order to apply.
\nIn all cases, the training stints will be full-time.<\/p>\n

Participants from hospitals outside the Community of Madrid will have their travel expenses to Madrid covered up to a maximum of 300 \u20ac<\/strong> (one round-trip from their usual place of residence; if traveling by public transportation, it must be in economy class, in accordance with the CNIC\u2019s travel policy). In addition, these participants will be reimbursed for accommodation expenses in Madrid up to a maximum of 250 euros<\/strong> per week. Any amounts exceeding the weekly limit will be offset against one another, provided they do not exceed 1,000.00 \u20ac<\/strong> over a four-week period. <\/p>\n

All expenses must be supported by documentation, including invoices issued in the participant\u2019s name and proof of payments made from their bank account. The documentation must be sent in a single email to programa_formaci\u00f3n@cnic.es within 10 calendar days after the end of the stay at the Center. Once the documentation has been reviewed, the participant will be notified of which supporting documents must be submitted as original hard copies (invoices, receipts, or other supporting documents) and mailed to the Center\u2019s address. <\/p>\n

Participation in the internship will not entail any type of contractual relationship between the intern and the CNIC.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Duration and Length of Stay<\/h3>\n

The duration of the stay will be flexible<\/strong>, ranging from 4 to 6 months<\/strong>, in accordance with the regulations set forth in the MIR Training Program of the participant\u2019s home hospital.
\nStays must take place entirely between June 1, 2026, and May 31, 2027<\/strong>, except in exceptional circumstances duly authorized by the CNIC and SEC management.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/h3>\n

Be a member of the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC).
\nBe a medical professional, of any nationality, currently in the R3, R4, or R5 years of a residency program in Cardiology or Cardiovascular Surgery at a hospital in Spain.<\/p>\n

Deadline and Formalization<\/h3>\n

The call for applications will be open from April 21, 2026, through January 15, 2027.
\nApplications must be submitted exclusively through the CNIC online system:
