Gilead Biomedical Research Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Features<\/h3>\n<p>Whereas the generation of scientific knowledge in the field of the sciences of the<br \/>\nHealth, its dissemination, and its application to healthcare practice are key to achieving<br \/>\nTo promote progress and improve citizens&#8217; living conditions, GILEAD SCIENCES, S.L.U. promotes the  <a href=\"https:\/\/becasgileadinvestigacion.es\/becas-doceava-edicion\/concesion-de-ayudas-y-comunicacion\/\"><strong>\u201c12th Call for Applications for Gilead Scholarships for Biomedical Research in HIV, Hematology-Oncology, and Medical Oncology.\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Proposals submitted under this call for proposals may only pertain to research projects conducted within the national territory and with an <strong>implementation period not exceeding 24 months<\/strong>. This period will begin on the date the agreement for business collaboration on activities of general interest is signed, as referred to in the \u201cGrant Award and Notification\u201d section of this website. Grants awarded under this call for proposals will take the form of a monetary contribution of a variable amount that may not exceed <strong>55,000 euros per project<\/strong>, which will include administrative management expenses.  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Projects must fall within one of the following research areas:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>HIV<\/strong><\/span>:\n<ul>\n<li>Research to improve knowledge and the care cascade (Care Cascade) in<br \/>\ncertain subpopulations of people living with HIV:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>older adults (aging among people living with HIV)<\/li>\n<li>women<\/li>\n<li>transgender people<\/li>\n<li>migrant population<\/li>\n<li>sex workers<\/li>\n<li>homeless people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Research on innovative care strategies to improve early diagnosis<br \/>\nand follow-up of people living with HIV<\/li>\n<li>Research on Improving Access to and Implementation of PrEP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Hematology-Oncology<\/strong><\/span>: B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas (diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma)\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: projects and initiatives to implement improvements to existing processes<br \/>\nfor CAR-T therapy treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Projects aimed at facilitating the identification of patients who are candidates for CAR-T treatment and<br \/>\nimproving coordination among different levels of care to expedite treatment with<br \/>\nCAR-T therapy.<\/li>\n<li>Strategies aimed at improving comprehensive patient management programs, a multidisciplinary \u201c<br \/>\n\u201d approach, referral, and coordination of care for CAR-T therapy treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Clinical projects related to the study of prognostic variables and predictive<br \/>\nfactors\u2014including imaging techniques, laboratory tests, and<br \/>\ninnovative applications of new technologies such as artificial intelligence\u2014associated with<br \/>\nCAR-T cell therapy.<\/li>\n<li>Characterization of mechanisms of resistance to CAR-T cell therapy.<\/li>\n<li>Studies on the economic burden of the disease and cohort follow-up of patients<br \/>\ntreated with CAR-T therapy in routine clinical practice.<\/li>\n<li>Preclinical and translational studies on predictive factors and mechanisms of resistance<br \/>\nto CAR-T therapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Medical Oncology (Solid Tumors)<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Clinical or clinical-translational projects involving patients with solid tumors in which<br \/>\ninnovative applications in oncology are developed using new technologies, such as<br \/>\nartificial intelligence, applied to clinical or molecular data.<\/li>\n<li>Clinical or clinical-translational projects on solid tumors related to the study of<br \/>\n, prognostic variables, and predictive variables.<\/li>\n<li>Cohort studies or case-control studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Ways to Participate:<\/h3>\n<p>Research project proposals may be submitted in one of the following formats<br \/>\noptions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Single-center study<\/strong>: a project submitted by a single beneficiary applicant<br \/>\nin accordance with the provisions of the Second Rule of this call for proposals, and conducted at a single<br \/>\nclinical care center. Such projects may involve subcontracting, in which case the grant recipient must<br \/>\nensure that the subcontracting is carried out in accordance<br \/>\nwith applicable laws and regulations. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Multicenter study<\/strong>: a project submitted by a single beneficiary applicant<br \/>\nin accordance with the provisions of the Second Rule of this call for proposals and carried out at several<br \/>\nclinical care centers. The coordinating center must list the participating centers<br \/>\nin the application. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Requirements:<\/h3>\n<p>All proposals submitted must fall into one of the following categories of<br \/>\nresearch groups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Groups led by researchers born in 1985 or later, with a<br \/>\ntrack record of scientific output that suggests they have the potential to become<br \/>\nhighly competitive groups, which must submit proposals for<br \/>\ndistinctive and innovative research initiatives that do not involve the breakup of preexisting groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular groups (led by researchers born before 1985) must<br \/>\nmeet the general conditions set forth in the various sections, without<br \/>\nany other specific requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">How to apply<\/h3>\n<p>Applications to participate in this call for proposals must be submitted online through this website  <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/becasgileadinvestigacion.es\/\">www.BecasGileadInvestigacion.es.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For this Twelfth Call for Proposals, all information must be submitted in English (project proposal and researchers\u2019 CVs); therefore, projects submitted in any language other than English will not be evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>Each principal investigator may submit only one research project proposal. A maximum of two projects may be submitted per therapeutic area and healthcare facility. A \u201chealthcare facility\u201d is defined as the facility to which the project\u2019s principal investigator is affiliated.  <\/p>\n<p>At most, only one project may be awarded per therapeutic area and per healthcare facility to which the project\u2019s principal investigator is affiliated.
