The <strong>program<\/strong> is structured as a <strong>networked research project<\/strong>, guiding their research activities toward common goals that will yield results applicable to the general population.<\/p>\n<p>Projects must fall within one of the research lines included in the following <strong>thematic areas<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic:  <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Chronic Kidney Disease and Hyperkalemia.<\/li>\n<li>Heart Failure.<\/li>\n<li>Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.<\/li>\n<li>Amyloidosis-Associated Polyneuropathy (ATTR-PN).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oncology, Precision Medicine, and Immuno-oncology:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Lung Cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Ovarian Cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Breast Cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.<\/li>\n<li>Gastrointestinal Cancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Respiratory and Immunology:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).<\/li>\n<li>Asthma.<\/li>\n<li>Lupus.<\/li>\n<li>Eosinophilic Inflammatory Diseases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vaccines and Immunotherapy:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>COVID-19.<\/li>\n<li>Pediatric Flu.<\/li>\n<li>Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).<\/li>\n<li>Metapneumovirus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As for the Honorary Award for Excellence in Scientific Achievement and Outstanding Contribution to Public Health, the funds will be allocated to the project chosen by the award-winning researcher or healthcare professional.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Requirements:<\/h3>\n<p>This call for proposals is aimed at networked research projects<strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">comprising at least three research groups, led by researchers born in 1980 or later<\/span><\/strong>, whose scientific output indicates they have the potential to become highly competitive groups; these groups must submit a single proposal outlining a distinctive and innovative course of action.<\/p>\n<p>Research groups must be organized into a network coordinated by one of the participating principal investigators and must include groups from at least <strong>three different autonomous communities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the networks must consist of <strong>at least three research groups<\/strong> belonging to public or private healthcare or university institutions, public research organizations, or other research centers located throughout the country and in at <strong>least three different autonomous communities<\/strong>. There is no limit on the number of groups that can form the network, provided that each group meets the requirements set forth in the guidelines. <\/p>\n<p>The principal investigators of the participating research groups, including the coordinator, may submit only one proposal for a network project.<\/p>\n<div class=\"convocatoria_apartado_titulo_segundo_nivel\"><strong>IP Requirements<\/strong>:<\/div>\n<div class=\"convocatoria_apartado_contenido\">\n<p>The network project coordinator must also meet each of the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a civil servant, a statutory employee, or a contract employee at one of the eligible entities.<\/li>\n<li>Have served as the principal investigator on at least one research project funded through competitive grant programs, or have been a recipient of a human resources grant that includes funding for a research project.<\/li>\n<li>Not be a coordinator or principal investigator on any of the network projects awarded in the 8th call for entries for the Young Researchers Awards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">How to apply<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Required documentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Grant Application Form<\/strong>, in accordance with the provided template, signed by the coordinator of the network research project, as well as by the legal representative of the applicant entity to which the coordinator is affiliated (coordinating entity) or, where applicable, the entity managing that entity\u2019s funds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research Project Proposal<\/strong>, in accordance with the provided template. The project proposal must include, among other things, the objectives and expected results, the coordination plan, a description of the proposed work plan for carrying out the research project being submitted, the potential for application in clinical practice, and the requested budget broken down by type of expense. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Standardized Curriculum Vitae (CVN) or Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CVA)<\/strong>, generated using the <a href=\"https:\/\/cvn.fecyt.es\/editor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online editor<\/a>, for the project coordinator as well as for each of the leaders of the research groups participating in the networked project.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally,<strong> a letter of support<\/strong> issued by a patient organization outlining the expected impact of the research project\u2019s results on healthcare, as well as improvements in patients\u2019 health and quality of life. The letter of support will not be a mandatory requirement, but it will be taken into account in the evaluation of the proposal. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #003c8c\">Submission deadline.<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>application period<\/strong> will run from <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">March 19, 2025, until midnight on May 15, 2025<\/span><\/strong>.
