Thanks to close collaboration between the hospital and IBSAL, the Salamanca complex has been part of the EU CraNE plan since late 2024. The plan connects <strong>45 Comprehensive Cancer Centres (CCCs) across Europe<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>In December 2024, the CraNE plan\u2014also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/ecc-cert.org\/health-service-research\/eunetccc\/\">EUnetCCC<\/a>\u2014was officially launched by the European Commission. Its goal is to create a network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres to foster the <strong>sharing of best practices, resources, and expertise among Europe\u2019s leading cancer hospitals<\/strong>. IBSAL has been instrumental in this process, contributing scientific expertise and helping Salamanca join this network of excellence. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The project \u2018<strong><em>The European Comprehensive Cancer Centre Network (EUnetCCC)<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 is funded by the European Union under the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/opportunities\/portal\/screen\/opportunities\/projects-details\/43332642\/101183407\/EU4H?order=DESC&amp;pageNumber=1&amp;pageSize=10&amp;sortBy=title&amp;keywords=Mental%20health%20support%20for%20young%20adults%20with%20cancer&amp;isExactMatch=true\">EU4Health programme, managed by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), Grant Agreement No. 101183407<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Earlier, in late 2023, the Salamanca University Hospital had already been selected as a member of an elite network of comprehensive cancer centres, marking the beginning of its journey toward European accreditation.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>With IBSAL&#8217;s ongoing support, the hospital aligns with the strategy set by the CraNE\/EUnetCCC Joint Action, which aims for <strong>90% of cancer patients in the EU to be treated in accredited Comprehensive Cancer Centres by 2030<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>This milestone highlights IBSAL\u2019s pivotal role in advancing biomedical research and enhancing cancer care.
