SUMMARY:PFIZER FOUNDATION AWARD FOR THE BEST HEALTH INNOVATION PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:Summary\nThe ITEMAS Platform and the Pfizer Foundation are announcing the Pfizer Foundation Award for the Best Health Innovation Project\, aimed at recognizing and supporting innovative initiatives developed in hospitals and health research institutes affiliated with ITEMAS’s Units and Associated Units.\nThe call for proposals aims to promote projects with the potential to impact the National Health System (SNS)\, particularly those focused on:\n• Facilitating the diagnosis of diseases.\n• Improve treatment adherence.\n• Promote information\, monitoring\, and understanding of medical conditions.\nPriority will be given to projects with a minimum level of technological maturity equivalent to TRL 5\, especially those that already have a prototype or pilot test.\nIn addition to institutional recognition\, this call for proposals represents an opportunity to highlight innovative projects with the potential for real-world implementation and scalability in the healthcare sector. \n  \nRequirements:\nProjects that meet the following criteria are eligible to participate: \n\nThey must be led by professionals from hospitals or health research institutes affiliated with ITEMAS.\nIn the case of Affiliated Units\, please have the signed membership agreement on hand before submitting your application.\nPlease present innovative solutions with the potential to impact the National Health System (SNS).\nIdeally\, you should have a prototype or pilot test.\nBe aligned with one of the objectives of the call for proposals:\n\nDiagnosis\nTherapeutic Adherence\nInformation and Knowledge About Diseases\n\n\n\n  \nAssessment Criteria\nApplications will be evaluated based on: \n\nAlignment with the call’s objective.\nPotential impact on the National Health System.\nFeasibility and Future Implementation.\nScalability.\nInnovative and disruptive nature.\nCollaboration or integration with other ISCIII platforms (SCReN\, Biomodels\, and Biobanks).\n\n  \nPrize Amount\nThe winning project will receive: \n\nA cash prize of €4\,000 awarded by the Pfizer Foundation.\nOpportunity to apply for a scholarship for a 2-week stay in Boston as part of Richi Social Entrepreneurs’ international immersion program\, valued at €10\,000.\n\nThe visit will allow the team to: \n\nConnect with the international health innovation ecosystem.\nDevelop the project’s development strategy.\nGain access to mentors\, contacts\, and specialized knowledge.\n\nThe scholarship does not cover travel\, lodging\, or living expenses. \nIn addition\, the finalist projects will receive support from the Pfizer Foundation to increase their visibility within the innovation ecosystem through participation in events and outreach activities. \n  \nSubmission and Application Deadline.\nThe application deadline is June 19\, 2026. \nYou will need to provide: \n\nAppendix 1: Nomination for the Pfizer Foundation Award.\n\nTo begin the process\, we recommend contacting the Innovation and Medical Device Platform (I.T.SAL) via email at itsal@ibsal.es\, which is responsible for managing and processing applications. \n
