SUMMARY:ALIMERKA. Call for Proposals for Health Sciences Research Grants 2025
DESCRIPTION:Features\nThe 4th Call for Proposals for Alimerka Foundation Grants for Research in Health Sciences\, with a budget of 40\,000 euros\, aims to promote research that\nmay prove beneficial to patients\, their families\, the scientific community\, and society at large. \nParticular emphasis will therefore be placed on the social impact of eligible projects\, achieved through responsible research that addresses the needs and expectations of the various stakeholders in the health care system. \nThe Alimerka Foundation’s research grants are intended to fund research projects with a distinctly translational focus that thereby promote the development of personalized precision medicine in any of the following areas of clinical research: \n\nOncology.\n\nCancer Genomics\nCancer Diagnosis and Treatment\n\n\n\n  \n\nNutrition\n\nNutrition Throughout the Stages of Life\nNutrition and Cardiometabolic Diseases\nFood Allergies and Intolerances\n\n\n\n  \nOne project will be selected from each area\, and each will receive 20\,000 euros in funding each. If\, following the evaluation of applications\, one of the two areas is declared void (see point 9 of the Call for Proposals)\, two projects from the same research area may be funded.  \nApplications for grants that do not fall within the specified research areas\, or that are intended to study drugs that are already on the market or in development\, will be excluded. \nRequirements:\nGrants may be applied for by research teams or groups conducting their activities at universities\, research centers\, hospitals\, associations\, or foundations in the field of health or research—whether public or private—that have their registered office in the autonomous communities of Asturias and Castile and León. \nProjects must be submitted by a single principal investigator who is affiliated with the applicant institution for the duration of the project. The remaining team members or collaborating researchers may be affiliated with other research centers or universities in any country.  \nResearchers applying for this call for proposals may submit only one project\, which must be innovative and represent a step forward in research in the relevant field of\nstudy. \nProjects funded through this call for proposals may receive funding from other sources\, which must be specified on the application form.\nPrincipal investigators and research groups that have received grants from the 3rd Alimerka Foundation Call for Proposals for Health Sciences Research\, in its 2024 edition\, are not eligible to apply for this Call; at least one Call must elapse between the receipt of the grant and the submission of a new application for funding. \nHow to apply\nTo apply for the grant\, interested individuals must submit an application package\, written in Spanish using the Arial font\, 11-point size\, and 1.15 line spacing\, that includes the following: \n\nApplication summary\, following the standard format included in Appendix 1\, with general information about the project\, the Principal Investigator (PI)\, the research team\, and the institution where the research will be conducted.\n\n  \n\nCurriculum Vitae for the principal investigator and the team members who will actively participate in the development of the proposed project\, formatted according to the standard form “\n” included in Annex 2\, and which must address the following aspects (one form per person): \n\nGeneral information: personal information\, current and previous professional experience\, academic background\, stays at foreign institutions\, and areas of research.\nA brief summary of the curriculum vitae that includes references to scientific contributions\, contributions to society\, the training and development of research teams\, the creation of companies\, publishing and research activities\, or other relevant contributions.\nScientific contributions\, including a summary of notable publications\, conferences\, and research projects\, as well as knowledge transfer activities and the application of research findings.\n\n\n\n  \n\nA scientific report explaining the proposed project\, in accordance with\nthe content set forth in Appendix 1\, and with reference to the following sections and\na maximum length of 12 pages: \n\nDescription of the project’s objectives\, milestones\, and expected results\nProject Development: Methodology and Work Plan \nSocial Impact and Potential Benefits\nResearch Team\nDissemination of Results\nFunding Received for the Project\nJustification for the Aid\n\n\n\n  \n\nDetailed project budget\, as shown in Appendix 3.\n\n  \n\nAuthorization Document for External Communication Activities\, as per Annex 4.\n\n  \nSubmission deadline.\nThe application period will run from Monday\, April 21\, to Tuesday\, May 20\, 2025\, at 2:00 p.m. (Spanish time). Applications must be submitted in PDF format and electronically signed using an electronic signature recognized by the IP or by the legal representative of the applicant entity. All documentation mentioned in the application must be attached and submitted via email to fundacion@alimerka.es with the subject line “2025 Call for Research Grants.”  \nIn cases where applicants are asked to correct their applications\, they will have from Monday\, May 26\, through Friday\, May 30\, 2025\, to complete their applications at\nor to submit any missing documents. If information or documents have been requested and\, once the deadline has passed\, they have not been provided\, the application evaluation process will be deemed rejected.  \nIf\, in a collaborative project\, the required documentation is not fully submitted—even if it pertains to only one of the participating groups—the grant application will be rejected in its entirety. The Alimerka Foundation reserves the right to request from applicants any additional reports or information deemed necessary to properly evaluate the applications.
