SUMMARY:Pasqual Maragall Researchers Program (PMRP) Scholarship Program
DESCRIPTION:Objective\nThe Pasqual Maragall Researcher Program (PMRP) funds outstanding research projects on Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases. Its goal is to foster and support translational or clinical research projects focused on Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The PMRP will provide up to 800\,000 euros in funding for individual or collaborative research projects to be completed within a maximum of five years.   \n  \nRecipients\nPrincipal investigators of individual research projects or coordinators of collaborative project consortia must hold a position as independent researchers at a public or nonprofit research organization in Spain. \nFor collaborative research projects\, the other members of the consortium (the consortium’s principal investigators) may be based at public or nonprofit research organizations anywhere in the world. \nPlease refer to the “Rules of Participation ” document for eligibility criteria. \n  \n\nProcedure for Submitting a Proposal\nApplications to the PMRP are submitted through a two-step process: \n\nStage 1: Submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI).\nStage 2: Submission of a complete proposal\, by invitation only.\n\nThe entire process of applying for\, reviewing\, and selecting projects will be conducted in English; therefore\, all information must be submitted in this language. Applications must be submitted through the online grant system. Please read the Submission Guidelines carefully before beginning your application.   \n  \n\nCall for Applications Schedule\nThe key dates for the 2025 call for applications for the Pasqual Maragall Researchers Program (PMRP) are: \n\nSeptember 16\, 2025 – 10:00 a.m. CEST: Opening of the application system for EI registration.\nOctober 23\, 2025 – 3:00 p.m. CEST: Deadline for submitting the EI.\nFebruary 2026: Announcement of the results of the preliminary evaluation and invitation to submit full proposals.\nApril 14\, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. CEST: Deadline for submitting full proposals (by invitation only).\nJuly 2026: Notification of the results of the full proposals to the applicants.\nTo be confirmed: public announcement of the results.\nDates are subject to change. Applicants will be notified of any relevant changes. \n\n  \n  \nSelection Process\nThe review process for both the EI and the full proposals consists of three phases: administrative review\, scientific review\, and strategic review. \n\nThe Pasqual Maragall Researchers Program (PMRP) team conducts an administrative review to ensure that only complete applications that meet all eligibility criteria are evaluated by the Evaluation Committee and the Selection Committee.\nThe Evaluation Committee is composed of experts of internationally recognized standing in their respective fields. Its role is to evaluate and score the applications in accordance with the call for proposals’ evaluation criteria (detailed in the document“Evaluation Procedure”) and to report the results of the evaluation to the Selection Committee. \nIn addition to the evaluation criteria\, the Selection Committee of the Pasqual Maragall Researchers Program (PMRP) assesses how well the proposals align with the Pasqual Maragall Foundation’s strategic plan and the PMRP’s priorities. The Selection Committee is composed of the Foundation’s director\, management consultants\, faculty members\, and members of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Foundation’s research center\, as well as experts of internationally recognized standing in their fields.\nExpressions of interest that receive the most favorable evaluation will be invited to submit a full proposal. \n\nThe proposals that receive the most favorable evaluations will be invited to sign a grant agreement with the Pasqual Maragall Foundation. \nIn the document“Evaluation Procedure\,” you will find more detailed information about the criteria and the review process for the proposals received. \n  \n\nMore information\nYou will find all the documents related to the call for proposals\, including the rules for participation\, in the “Documents of Interest” section of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation website. \nIf you have any questions about your application or eligibility\, please check the Frequently Asked Questions.
