SUMMARY:Dr. Francisco España Fellowship for Emerging Research Groups in Thrombosis and Hemostasis 2026
DESCRIPTION:Purpose\nThe purpose of the Dr. Francisco España Fellowship is to promote scientific research in hemostasis and thrombosis by awarding a fellowship to emerging research groups to conduct research in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis. \n  \nRequirements\n\nOriginal research projects that represent a new line of research in Hemostasis and Thrombosis are eligible for the Dr. Francisco España Scholarship.\nThe scientific research paper must address a topic related to the field of Hemostasis and Thrombosis and be conducted by researchers organized as an emerging research group.\nAn emerging research group is defined as a group of researchers working in a specific area of hemostasis or thrombosis\, in which at least each individual researcher or the research group as a whole has published two scientific articles in the last five years.\nThe emerging research group must consist of at least three researchers working in the field of hemostasis or thrombosis.\nApplicants must demonstrate that at least two-thirds of the group’s researchers—including\, in all cases\, the principal investigator—are members of SETH and are current with their membership dues. The principal investigator of the group must be a member of SETH at the time of application and for the entire duration of the grant. \nThe principal investigator of the group must be under 45 years of age.\nThe group’s principal investigator may not be a trainee or a fellow.\nThe principal investigator of the emerging research group may not have an active research project that has received funding under the FETH’s “Grants and Awards” program as a researcher at the time of application or during the entire grant period.\nMembers of the research team who have already received the Dr. Francisco España Fellowship in a previous call for applications may not apply in the next two calls for the Dr. Francisco España Fellowship.\nAn emerging research group whose principal investigator belongs to a group that has received an award in any of the last three López Borrasca Award calls for proposals is not eligible to apply for the Dr. Francisco España Fellowship.\nApplications for the Dr. Francisco España Fellowship must specifically list the members of the emerging group who are SETH members and those who are not\, in accordance with the fellowship requirements.\nIf the emerging research group withdraws after accepting the grant\, it will be subject to a penalty for the next two calls for applications for any award or grant sponsored by the FETH. None of the members of the group that rejected the award after accepting it may apply for any FETH awards or grants in the next two application rounds. \n\n  \nDocumentation\nThe application must be accompanied by the following documentation: \n\nDetailed résumés of the principal investigator and the members of the research group.\nResearch project report\, including:\n\nTitle\nSummary\nIntroduction: Background and Current Status of the Issue\nMost Relevant Bibliography\nHypothesis\nObjectives\nMaterials and Methods\nWork plan outlining the most important stages\, by quarter\nPractical Applications of the Results\nAvailable Resources\nDetailed Budget\nJustification for the Request and Creation of a New Line of Work\nThe project must be no longer than 10 pages\, using 12-point Arial font and single spacing.\n\n\nSelf-assessment in accordance with the criteria set forth in Annex I.\nLetter of acceptance from the host institution or research group where the research project will be conducted.\n\n  \nDuration and Funding\nThe projects will last two years\, from January 1\, 2027\, to December 31\, 2028. \nThe prize money will be €30\,000.00 \n  \nApplications\n\nScholarship applications must be submitted electronically using the appropriate application form.\nDeadline for receipt of applications: July 5\, 2026\, at 11:59 p.m.\n\n  \nDOWNLOAD THE FULL RULES \nMore information:\nhttps://seth.es/becas-y-premios-seth-feth-2/beca-francisco-espana-grupos-investigacion-emergentes-hemostasia-trombosis-2026/ \n  \n
