SUMMARY:AES 2026 - Juan Rodés Contracts 2026
DESCRIPTION:Purpose\nThe purpose of this initiative is\, on the one hand\, to hire medical staff with experience in health sciences and technologies research at the public healthcare centers that are part of the IIS\, and\, on the other hand\, to provide grants for the creation and filling of the resulting permanent position at those centers once the grant period has ended. \nThe purpose of these contracts is to: \n\nIncrease the critical mass of medical staff who combine clinical care and research activities to strengthen the capacity to translate knowledge into patient care and to generate research hypotheses based on clinical practice.\nPromote patient- and population-oriented research through knowledge transfer activities.\nTo contribute to the strengthening of the research component in the professional careers of National Health System (SNS) staff.\n\n  \nRequirements\nRequirements for applicants: \n\nOnly Health Research Institutes (IIS) accredited by Ministerial Order may be beneficiaries of this type of Juan Rodés Contract. \nThe IIS may submit applications on behalf of research groups belonging to any of the institutions that are signatories to the Agreement establishing the IIS. \nHealthcare services must be provided by public healthcare entities and institutions engaged in clinical care: hospitals\, primary care centers\, and other healthcare facilities not included in the preceding categories that hold a healthcare operating license issued by the competent authority. \n\n\nCandidate requirements:\n\nIndividuals who meet the following requirements are eligible for this program: \n\nHold an official degree in a medical specialty (MIR)\, pharmacy (FIR)\, or an official certificate of specialization in biology (BIR)\, chemistry (QIR)\, Biochemistry\, Psychology (PIR)\, Nursing (EIR)\, or Hospital Radiophysics (RIR). Degrees obtained abroad must be properly recognized or accredited. \nHold a doctoral degree and either have completed the Río Hortega program or be currently holding a 2023 or 2024 AES Río Hortega Contract as of the application deadline. If the candidate has completed a postdoctoral fellowship abroad with a continuous duration of at least two years\, it is not necessary to have completed or be currently participating in a Río Hortega Contract. In any case\, the candidate must have completed the Río Hortega Contract prior to the start of the Juan Rodés Contract.  \nThose who are currently participating in a Juan Rodés Contract at the time of application\, or those who have previously completed one\, are not eligible for this program.\n\n\n  \nApplication\nApplications and all other required documentation must be submitted exclusively through the  ISCIII’s online portal. \nThe application forms will require only the signature of the legal representative of the applicant entity\, who will collect the signatures of the other interested parties and be responsible for their safekeeping and authenticity. \nThe following are an integral part of the application: \n\nProposal report in Spanish or English\, using only the standardized template corresponding to AES 2026.\nAbbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CVA-ISCIII) in Spanish or English\, automatically generated by the CVN editor or by any institution certified under the FECYT’s CVN standard that offers the CVA-ISCIII service\, for the candidate.\n\nIn addition\, the applications must be accompanied by (documentation that can be corrected): \n\nCopy of valid passport\, only in the case of foreign citizens not residing in Spanish territory.\nAn FSE credential that has been accredited or recognized by the competent authority\, if obtained abroad.\nDoctoral degree or academic transcript showing the grade received on the doctoral dissertation and the date the doctoral degree was awarded.\nLetter of support from the head of the department and legal representative of the healthcare organization to the candidate\, Juan Rodés\, using the standard form.\nDocumentary proof of the postdoctoral stay abroad\, indicating the start and end dates of the stay and details of the activities carried out during that period\, for candidates who are not participants in the Río Hortega program.\nFull text of the selected publications\, unless they are open access.\nA standardized document signed by the legal representative of the applicant institution and by the competent authority of the Autonomous Community—if the creation of permanent positions is subject to that authority’s approval—formally committing to the creation of the corresponding permanent position.\n\n  \nCall for Applications Guidelines\nThe complete terms and conditions of the call for applications can be viewed by clicking  here.
